Motomichi Nakamura was born in Tokyo, Japan and graduated from Parsons School of Design. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NYC.
Minimum use of color (black, white and red) as well as a focus on the creation of characters and creatures using simple graphic elements characterizes Motomichi’s work visually across digital and traditional media.
The subjects in his work are part human and part monsters. They can appear at once childlike and sexually deviated. Motomichi’s need to express the conflictive nature of human behavior in his work is also translated visually with the use of strong contrasting colors in both his digital work and in his paintings.
